Default Best first suspension upgrade...

Just curious, i've been fiddlin' w/ the engine plenty (Headers, intake, cam and heads coming this Xmas, 3.73 rear), but i want to make sure all that power connects w/ the ground and doesn't fly up in a cloud of smoke.

So i ask, what should be my first suspension upgrade for my 99 WS-6? Also, how much do you think it's gonna cost me to stick 400+ HP to the ground (daily driver)?

lower control arms and relocation brackets seemed to help me a little bit, costed a little over 200 (i think)...next on my list is qa1's

subframe connectors seemed to help some. I would recommend them.

a panhard bar and LCA's are a good start, gets that rear end straightened out, torque arms are helpful too

the new issue of GM High Tech covers suspension pretty well...madman knows his stuff...just got done reading it at work

Well im assuming from your original post you want a suspension for straight line traction, and not corner carving/handling.

In this case ditch your front sway bar, add LCAs, torque arm, and or Panhard and some soft sticky tires and you have a good start. look at UMI stuff if you wanna save money they are pretty cheap compared to alot of the others..

u can wait on the panhard bar until you lower your car, one of the main purposes of the panhard is to center the rear end on lowered vehicles

Assume i go the cornering and carving route...

if you wanna corner carve, it cant really be had on the cheap...

good springs/shock combo. new front/rear sways


its hard to do both... read the sticky in the suspension section

i tried to comprimise and get a decent all around setup in mine, now im having problems deciding on a good all around shock/spring combo... seems they are either for cornering or drag setups, and my car is a little of both as i suspect many of ours are. im leaning toward HD Bilsteins, and a front lowering shock and the heater hose mod for the rear with the stock shock... i dont mean to hijack, its just ive been thinking about this topic lately...
