Default 1/4 Mile Traction Lowered Car Help

On my 02 Z28 I have the Eibach Pro Kit, stock shocks (23K miles), adj torque arm and panard bar. BMR lower control arms and relocation brackets. Tires are Nitto drag radials. The best 60ft time I can get was a 1.88. What would you guys suggest to help with my traction issues. I thought about cutting a coil out of my original rear springs and putting them back in. Would that help do to them being softer then the Eibachs? I still want to be lower then stock. Thanks for any help.

Take your stock springs and chop a coil off and do the heater hose mod. I've got stock springs in the back of mine. Also, throw some HAL/QA1's on it. You could sell the pro kit to help fund the project (around $650 for HAL/QA1 shocks all around with front springs).

This is a street car as well, right? Is it your dd or just weekend cruising and track visits?

Depending on how much street it sees, tires(ET streets) will get you better 60's. That didn't exactly answer your question, but that would be the best way, IMO. For a "dual purpose" vehicle, I think stock shocks are better than QA1s. Those will suck on the street. Your front end will be like a wet noodle and when you want to get on it in a turn you will be limited by your suspension. I'm not being a smart ***, but read the suspension mods and the real world sticky by trackbird. Lots of good info on "dual purpose" vehicles.

TWINS!!!!!!!!

Yes, that's how my car looks right now. Front end is a tiny bit higher (fronts are coil-overs), and my tires are 315 ET streets, not Nittos.

My car is 90% street, handles great. I also have NO front swaybar. The ET streets made the car ride 10x smoother than BFG or Nitto drags and they have 10x the traction. They also have 2x the tread depth as BFG/Nitto tires, earning them a 200 treadwear rating.

I sprung for the dual adjustable fronts, so they were more pricey, but I think worth it. I thought my car was going to ride like crap, but it rides really nice. If I was more concerned with going around corners fast, I'd probably have Koni's, but it does just fine for me. I'd say my cornering is only slightly decreased from stock, and that's because I chunked the front bar.

It's pretty much a weekend cruiser and sees some track time.

get rid of the nitto drag radials. They are horrible. Set up to a bfg or et street drag radial and you'll see better 60'
edit pic of a m6 with prokit and et street slicks on 17" rims weight transfer is good, stock kmember and that etc(car has a 10bolt rear still)

Hey RUCKUS, could you tell me more about your set up? Engine, suspension, tire size, 60ft and 1/4 mile times, etc. Thanks
