Default What is this sensor that I broke?

What is this sensor and is it easy to replace? The motor is a 2003 or 2004 6L. Can I use one from a 99 5.3L? Thanks.

Oil pressure sensor. Almost everyone that pulls off their intake brakes one. Should be compatible with any similar LSx motor.

Yup... its the oil pressure sending unit. Any local auto parts store will have one instock. No biggie, Just be very careful installing the new one! Every lsx style block/engine I buy, Ill pull all the sensors off and throw them in my tool box for resons like that.

Oil pressure sending unit. Thats what it's called. Don't forget the socket for it. Try it, see if works from the 99.

Thats not really a true statement. If people would read up a lil before removing their intake they'd know about it.

You also need a special socket to remove and install it.

I got mine at checker.
