Default Torque Spec For Head Bolts?

I'm putting my new lloyd elliott stage 2 heads on my car with arp bolts and chilton is telling me to torque the bolts to 22 in. lbs.

That just doens't seem right to me though.

Could someone please telling what to torque the head bolts too. thanks.

I believe that ARP has there own torque recomemdations depending on what assembly lube you use. I would use that.

Yea see the chilton manual has to be wrong.

65 ft. lbs. definately sounds more reasonable to me.

Can someone else assure this for me?

I did mine in three passes following the proper pattern. I did 25 - 45 - 75. No problems. Make sure to put sealant on the threads.

65 ft lbs. is from a GM service manual. However I agree with racerns that if ARP has a separate spec you should use that.
