Default ignition problem

lately i feel my ignition system is falling apart when im on the freeway in 4th when i give it bearly enough throttle to downshift it goes to realll low rpm then the engine starts shaking the whole car but it doesnt make loud noises and most of the time it idels real rough should i change the opti and plugs?

i thought that when optis start to go out they are first noticable as a high rpm miss. could be tho. check for burnt wires first

ok ima order the new opti what else should i order like in the coil ignition box etc and where should i buy them from

IMO have it scanned first and check for codes...take a look at the O2's and see what they are doing.

plus i just wanna change the opti it has 141k on it and i dont think its been serviced

No you have to buy the coils yourself and fab your own mounts.

If you want a complete kit go with the delteq.

dont want to steal his thread or sound like a newb but what exactly is an ltcc kit? i did a search but didnt find much, is it like the coils on an LSX motor?

well dont on their site say "system is well-proven in its Northstar application with a stock redline of 6500 RPM"

lol no. What that is saying is that the northstar engine had a stock redline of 6500 set, not that the delteq kit has that.

You will be just fine spinning much higher than 6500 with the delteq.

The delteq doesn't actually come with a separate rev limiter (unlike the LTCC) so your redline will be whatever the pcm has it set too.

i like the ltcc kit, if i have a cylinder missing i can track it to that coil,wire,plug,connector,ect...
and it revs to 7k in my Ta, and has a built in retard for the nitrous so the car is tuned for regular driving but pulls the timing when on the spray
but the delteq is a complet kit and my 95 northstar made all it power in the higher RPM

so the choice is yours

The deletq is a very very nice setup!! Yes you have fab your own mounts.
