The LS7 clutch LS2 flywheel set up is heavier...7-10lbs I believe...but it grabs like crazy and feels like stock. The lighter flywheel will free up some power. Do some searches on light flywheels...they have some disadvantages. From my understanding there has been a lot of issues with SPEC clutches...that is why I stayed away. As for any performance parts from autozone.....ummmm....do you really want to be pulling your tranny out again?

definately stay away with spec, i went through 5 of them, one being a stage 1, the rest being stage 3's, all with the same problem- center springs popping out around 5k-9k miles....

my friend has the LS7 clutch setup, feels great, like stock, but the thing is- its still a stock clutch.

Im spraying a 100wet shot on top of the 342rwhp 362rwtq that im putting down, and my ram powergrip HD is holding up great. this is my second clutch, only because my slave cylinder took a crap on me and sprayed the 1st ram clutch/flywheel down with fluid and ruined it. 5k launches at the track aren't a problem. ive had no signs of glazing or it wearing out. i am a very happy customer <- (it almost sounds like im in an advertisement or something lol)

I agree the LS7 setup is still a stock clutch, but the original post stated that he was not pushing a lot of HP...so I guess it depends on if he is going to stay like that or if he has mods planned. If he is staying where he is the LS7 set up is just fine and a very reasonable price.

I have the fidenza light weight flywheel and I love the way that the motor rev's up and the way the rpms go down fast between shifts.

Personally I like my RPM's to stay high while driving hard.

Shipping weight on the Fidanza is 13 lbs. The LS7 clutch, pressure plate, and Fidanza aluminum flywheel weigh in at 42 lbs which is about 6.5 lbs lighter than the stock LS1 set-up. I believe GM part #24238412 is the pressure plate kit that comes with the clutch and pressure plate for about $255. I got the Fidanza from speedinc for $379, but I hear it can be had cheaper. For around $635 plus supplies, you can have a decent set-up for the street. I'm not sure what kind of abuse it can take or what your intent is, but so far it satisfies me.

The only problem with the Fidanza flywheel is that it costs so much money. I think it is around $400

The noticeable power loss from the heavier LS7-LS2 set up will be minimal.
