Default Comp rocker clearance

i'm looking to install a set of Comp Cams adjustable rockers. is there any issues with stock LS1 valve cover clearance? if they won't work, what is the best solution?

I had to take a hammer to the inside of the valve covers and put a few divits in the drip rails. Not too big a deal. When I had it apart again I ground down the top of the compcam lock nuts just a little for some extra clearence...

ok... was there some etch marks from the adjuster nuts when you took them off?

You can take a dremmel and grind off the rivet heads and get rid of the thin sheet metal panel on the underside of the rocker cover. That's where the rocker will make contact. Or you can just use the hammer method or let the rockers reshape the sheet metal themselves. If they're Comp Pro Mags they can handle the abuse.

so i take it the left side cover that has the deflector is the only clearance issue? the other cover just has the two baffles that shouldn't be a problem. i'd really like not to have to buy/use spacer rails. just one more place for a leak.

No need for spacers if they are Pro Mags. Just get rid of the thin sheet metal panels. I can't remember if there is one on both sides, but if there is remove them both.
