Cam / crank sinking w/new motor?

Does anyone know if there is a learning procedure for the cam/crank when installing a new motor? Or is everything just set?

The hpt scanner has a re-learn that is sometimes used when a PCM is swapped between vehicles; I suppose the same could apply if you are having an issue
