Default Header gasket layers separating

Was planing on reusing my origanal gaskets as many members have done but found it's made of layers and on one side the layers are separating.You guys that reused yours,were they doing this?

i used a felpro set. they are multi layer steel and are only around $10-11. why take the chance when they are so cheap?

Yeah,your probably right.Just wondered what everyone else experienced because they dont look bad.

I bought new original gaskets at the dealer, no leaks. Don't remember how much they were, but I know they were cheap. It's not worth risking having to take everything apart again because you reused the old ones. Good luck.

I reused my factory units even though they were in bad shape. They leaked. For as cheap as they are, just replace them now.

FWIW, I just replaced the factory ones with the gaskets that came with my Edelbrocks, no leaks so far

After some calling,found the Fel Pro for about 12.00.Auto Zone and Advance Auto didn't have them in stock as well as the two local GM dealers.Wasn't worried about the cost, just didn't want to get held up on the job.
As it is, I got both sides on and the fit is great.Couldn't get my torque wrench in there though,had to just guess but I do have locking bolts.Hope to be done tomorrow.Thanks for the replys!
