Default what the heck is this rattle... with a sound clip... maybe even two

I found a sound clip of the exact same rattle i'm having on my car. i thought it may be somewhere on the catback, so i removed it and had only the stock manifolds and ypipe connected and it sounded just like this:

http://www.ls1sounds.com/my_car/cuto...k_chad_rev.wmv

thats not my car, but its the exact sound its making. im referring to the rattle/click/tap when the rev's die down. does anyone recognize that rattle. ive been under the car, banging on pipes, and scoping different parts of the exhaust, and i cant find it. it just seems to be coming out the exit of the exhaust and thats it. if you stand above the engine with the hood open, you cant even barely hear it. it's really odd. you have to be beside the car, or behind it, or in it.

clip of my car added: http://s65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...t=100_6612.flv quality of clip is crappy, i took it with my fiance's old digicam

well, like i said, if you put your head right over the motor and rev the engine, you cant even hear it. you really have to be beside the car, or behind it to hear it.

higher pitched metallic noises like that apparently have odd acoustic properties, and since i can hear it in the engine bay, i really doubt its anything like that.

i was thinking it may be something on the ypipe. maybe the cats? or i hear the ypipe is double walled on the driver side. maybe somethings messed up with it?

maybe part of your cat's broke off and is rattling around in there. wouldnt hurt to check it. just be careful if you try to take them off b/c the nuts are most likely seized on the studs.

is there any good way to get those nuts off without breaking the studs. mine look pretty rusty and messed up (as most exhaust bolts/studs do). when i took the ypipe off my 3.8 a couple years ago I pretty much broke every stud off. it didnt matter cause i was putting on pacesetters and a ypipe.

are there any good tricks to getting the ypipe off without breaking all the manifold to ypipe studs.

i think you have a rattle snake in your exhaust... hehe just kidding. i would make sure your screws on your clamps to the ypipe are nice and tight and also your hangers.
