Default 408 with a d1sc?

Well I am looking for a little input on the setup I am going to be installing. I bent some rod's in my 02 Z28 procharged 346, so I am going to be installing a 408 iron block all forged with blower pistons hitting a 9.5 to 1 compression with around 10psi D1sc. I am putting most all of my bugdet in the block so I will be using my stock heads mean time with the 220/224-568-568-114lsa cam from my 346. I know the cam is going to be very small for this engine but I am shooting for a very streetable sleeper car with at least the 550rwhp that I was making before. How much power do yall think this car will make with a ls6 intake, fmic, complete fuel system double 255lph 60#injectors?

I think you would hit your goal. you will just have a lot of things holding you back. I would like to see this setup to be honest. It is what I was going to run but with AFR 205's and my cam was the tr224. I put down 620 on my 347 with that setup and 14psi, so I would think you could get 550 from a 408 with less boost.
Just know that there is HUGE potential for this motor down the road when you start putting the other things on like heads, larger cam, intake and more boost of coarse. I think you should do it its not optimal but its practical. theres alot of people that will tell you that it wont work but I would go for it! Only reason I didnt was cause I got a complete for a great deal.
Good luck and let me know how it turns out if you decide to go through with it.

I think you can easily hit your goal if not exceed it by up to 50rhwp. Depends on the exact amount of boost you produce. I too am going with this combo, might even go F1 so I have even better room fot future upgrades that always seem to happen. That combo has been proven on here many times, but it all depends what your future goals and needs are for the car. My thought is a supercharger is more street friendly and also have been proven at the track many times. You can't go wrong with bigger cubes as well as the D1. As long as you have deep pockets, not counting burnin fuel and tires

thanks for your input, I am thinking that it will make pretty decent #'s and make good power under the curve with the smaller cam.

This I'd be interested in too. I bought a 224/228 .581/.588 114LSA because I was originally gonna go stock cubes but now with my 408 I think that it will be a lil small. I never researched for the 408 but only 346, so I can't suggest anything. I do know some guys with this combo on here have some hefty cams, like 24*/25* for example. Idle clip seem to idle smooth still after tuned, but again I don't know from experience or research. Help us out guys!

I don't really know those heads but we run a 234/240 XER on 115 duration in our 402ci with good results(AFR 225 heads).Very good daily driver and it made 650rwhp with a P1 Procharger at 10-12lbs

Any advance in the 220/224 cam you have now? Personally I think that cam will work well and be very tame in the larger motor. If you are looking for a true sleeper setup its not bad at all.

Good set of heads and that cam should hit 600-650RWHP EASILY 10#s boost with a D1SC imo.
