Should I do it or will I need a tune for it??? I have BBK shortys going in too, just needing to know what i need to do, it is my daily driver, i am not going for the most, but i dont know if running EGR is a must, i have a "guy" for inspection.

Fuggin A, i just orderes them off Ebay, 14.00, 4$ shipping, well, as soon as the machine shop is done wit my heads i can begin re-assembly, still gotta port the intake and swap the opti for a fresh one, but thatll be done before the heads are back, i need some 1.6 RRs but it can wait.

It will keep the fans on all the time, and the car will run in open loop (only 75% sure on the last bit). If you just unhook all the EGR/AIR stuff, it won't throw any codes to my knowledge. The AIR pump might, unless you keep it plugged in but unhook it from all plumbing. The egr solenoid throws a code, what I did is just unplug all the vacuum lines off it and leave it plugged in, corking everything off. Then again I did tune out all I could find in my 93, but apparently that didn't get tuned out :\ No biggie.

Well, i bought it without the air pump, never threw a code since, well, i will find out, tonight i ordered the block off plates, the header gaskets and head gaskets, ill get the head bolts and intake gaskets from the local parts shop. The percies will work fine with my ported heads and BBK shorty right?

You shouldn't need to pull the intake off if you're really good with a wrench/ratchet. I can get a 1/4" stubby ratchet on my AIR tube going into the back of the intake, but I haven't bothered with the EGR yet since I don't have the plates. I was just tightening the AIR tube.
You'll want to port the gaskets out to match your ports on your head though for the headers, or if you actually do pull the whole works. If you pull the heads (don't see why) then you might as well get the Impala gaskets. They're thinner and I guess give around .7 to compression, merv can re-confirm that.

But, again, I'm only 75% sure on that.

What will throw a code in my understanding is the EGR solenoid. Which mine did (but again I programed out as much as I could in my 93), so I just blocked off all the vacuum lines on the solenoid AND the EGR. Everything is basically still in place, but no plumbing is hooked up. The exhaust manifolds I plugged and the AIR plumbing connected to the intake is corked up tight. The EGR is in place, but has no vacuum.
