Default Car Died Out And Will Not Run!! Help!

Ok well today on the way to one of my buddies houses, i got on the gas up to about 4500rpms when all of a sudden a hear a semi loud bang..The car dies out almost immediatly and does not start again.....I had one of my neighbors come take a look at it and he said something about a oil sender?? I think thats what it was..If the oil sender went out would it cause the car to shut off and not be able to start up???..There was a little bit of oil on the ground where i finally stopped the car but nothing excessive..There were no signs of a knock or anything..The motor will still turn over and there are no strange noises coming from the engine bay...Oil pressure is @ 0 BTW..And the oil seems to only be on the passenger side of the car..Although no oil in the engine bay..Any thoughts guys???

you, my friend, have exploded your motor. Take it apart. The oil sender would not cause the car to not start.

your oil pressure will say zero until it is running but, it is definitely something major. if you have oil on the ground i would say broken rod and busted block

You will get oil pressure with the motor just cranking. Pull your fuel pump fuse and try it some time.

Try to turn the motor over by hand you SHOULD be able to do it on your own. Pull some of your plugs out or all and see what you find. If you can get them all out try turning it over by hand it might give you an idea if somthing is seized up

The motor will turn over without a problem..Its not seized up..When i turn the key it will still turn over with no signs or noises of any problems..I called a few shops and they said that if an oil line or something of that nature broke then the motor would automatically be shut off my by the computer to avoid any serious problems??

If it turns over and doesn't start after this bang, I'd have to say broken timing chain like already mentioned. You should still check and see if you have spark and fuel.

Mine didn't go bang but died very suddenly. Ended up being a crank position sensor. Put a new one in and fired right up...

Great if your driving a S-10 or other vehicle with a remote oil filter but your not. Even then the computer isn't going to know if a line busted other then maybe noticing a drop in oil pressure.

Pull a valve cover off and turn it over by hand. Does the valvetrain move?
