Default Finished My D1 Setup Sunday!

I was going with a twin turbo setup and had to change due to shortage of money to finish the project. I found out that I had damaged engine parts that needed to be replaced. So I had to sell my Incon kit.

A guy on here really helped me out. he drove all the way to Kansas from Denver and traded Everything that I needed to rebuild my motor, and still go FI.

Anyways here is the setup.
ported 317 heads
comp 230/228 .591/.586 @ 114
typhoon Intake 85mm
Edlebrock headers
8rib D1sc, 3.4 blower pulley and 7.65 crank pulley
loudmouth exhaust
the twin intercoolers
speed density tune.
fuddle racing 3400 converter

i am going to try to get it tuned next week. This is on the 346 also. And here is the video of the start up

Mid 10's shouldn't be a problem with your auto!

what transmission you runnin?

4.5" coolers???

Look for psi loss after the intercoolers... i lost about 2-3psi with the smaller coolers... Just a thing to look for... I put a fmic on mine - ZERO psi loss...

What have you done for your fuel system? With the 7.65 crank pulley an a 3.40 blower pulley, your engine is going to make some good boost. Bob

Fuel system is being upgraded as we speak. I have twin walbros in the tank with areomotive fuel regulator. I am trying to decide to run both tanks all the time or put the other on a hobbs switch. This will be on the 4l60e for now, I will change to a 400 once this one goes. I am not expecting it to last long. Just long enough to make a couple runs. Car only has 60,000 miles on it so I am hoping that helps a little.

As Bob said earlier the car should make some good boost, I do not mind if I lose a couple pounds after the coolers.

yeah see I had a turbo set up that I got rid of because I could not afford to rebuild the motor and finish the turbo setup. THis guy traded me everything that I needed to rebuild my motor and still go FI. That is why there is no front mount. When I get some extra money I might upgrade but I will do a tranny and a rear before then!

I hear ya on that one, I jsut bought a 9" and a chrome molly driveshaft as well as an external fuel system, before I get anything else it will be a trans. Thats the main reason why I want to start off with low boost. To break the motor in while I save for a trans. I would really like to save up and do the trans when I swap motors, etc. It would be ideal to do the FMIC then too, **** jsut keeps adding up, so I am trying to do this as smart as possible. Do as much as I can do all at once, I know I can't do absolutely everything but I think it will be a good start anyways. Good luck

I love it, and PP has excellent customer service, My intake did not come with some parts they overnited them the next day at no charge. It seals perfect, and looks pretty cool in my own opinion. But we will see what I get for dyno #'s
