Default 1996 Firebird engine help

i jus bought a 1996 firebird with the v6 in it nothing done to it but exhaust.
Now. i want to drop a new engine in it. any suggestions to what i should put in there..i was thinkin a 350 lt1? im not rly a car person but any information would be helpful. such as. where i could get the engine. and what other things would i need to purchase to be able to make the swap. thank you =)

You have a LONG painful road ahead of you if you know nothing about cars or have friends to help. Save your money and buy a cheap LT1,you can pick one up under 5k easily.

yeah i have a few friends who are mechanics i jus wanted to get some more advice and try to get a heads up on things.

Get a cheap LT1 off of craigslist or one an fbody forum somewhere (or here). There are a few people out there who converted their v6 car to an lt1 powerhouse. Do a lot of research and it'll pay off.
