On the front I use the K member. I tried on the front "frame" rails behind the wheels and didnt like the strain it seemed to put on the front end.

The jacking points will work just fine, just dont leave the car jacked in one corner for 2 days. I always do as already stated, the whole front, or the whole back is coming up when I work on mine. Jack it up at the axle, or the k-member.

How would you guys place the jackstands if the car was going to be on them for a week or two?

I've had my car up off the ground for about a week and i placed the jackstands on all four corners of my sf's. Seemed to work great, but w/o the sfc's just go 2 on the rear axle and 2 on the k-member.

sub frame, there are jacking points on all cars and usually on the pinch welds. then from there just place the jack stands on the k member or where ever is strong enough to support it, i usually use the big bolts on the k member to place the jack stands.

That's far and away the best. I have no trouble lifting the car by the front K member under the pan with my floor jack. It's plenty strong and distributes forces evenly across the body and causes no issues there.

Yeh, I need to make sure I know exactly what the K-Member is.. I feel like the consumate newb saying that, but I just need to make sure I am putting the jacks on it..

It shouldn't have to sit up there long, maybe 2 weeks max..

guys with jackstands under the cars how wise is it to let it sit for a long period of time like 2 months there would be no motor or tranny so most of the weight up front would be gone

as long as you have the jackstands in good spots, you can leave it up there for awhile. just make sure they are in secure spots.

71velle. If you have the engine/tranny out of it that will take a good bit of the stress off the front end. On the front frame rails it should be fine. But by far the best spot is the k member. I dont know what you plan on doin with the engine but if its possible Id bolt the kmember back up in there if the cars gonna be outta comission for a while.

when jacking up one side to put jack stand under, will that make exterior body panels flex or bend, till i jack the other side up.

just not sure bc i dont trust having my front left 2 feet in the air
