I was on my way home from work after a hot ass day driving the Camaro with no A/C(still trying to find the damn leak) because 2 of the 3 work cars are down for maintenance which means the bosses are to damn poor to get them fixed. So I'm driving down the short 10 miler between the work and the home and doing the 40...49...38...50...40 slinky with the cars in front of me. Every opp to pass had on coming traffic so I said screw it and played along. I notice waiting to turn onto the road a burnt-orange colored 240 with blacked out wheels, actually its not a bad looking car. I wait to see if he is going to be a ricer or a car guy and of course he was a ricer flew up on me and rode my ass, I'm talking sheet of paper wouldnt pass between kinda ass riding here. So we hit the main Highway here and I decide that since I need drinks for dinner Ill head up the highway to Rite aide and see if the 240 wants to play.
We go through town which is 35 into a 45 then a nice long straight stretch for about 3 miles, I'm clearing traffic left from town and he does the flyby and I hear the turbo and BOV so I think goody I get to see what the MS3 and new tune will do. Cleared traffic and I look over he gives me a nod and i point forward he nods again and guns it so we go from about a 60+ roll with me in 3rd and I pulled 3+ cars before I noticed him slowing and I shut down. Seemed to hang for a sec before I walked away, probably a pretty good match for a stock LS1. I wait for him to catch up and he is giving me the wait a sec finger when I point to see if he wants to go again...he was upping the boost I later found out. So we go from a 30 roll with me in 2nd gear and it was worse this time easily walked out to 3 cars and then as i was going into 4th my damn foot slipped off the clutch and I narrowly avoided catastrophe. I coasted to the next light which was only about 1/4 mile or less ahead and it turned red so as it was just me and him.
I asked him what was done and that it was a nice car to which he replied actually kinda cocky "it has a japanese motor *smirk*". I said really I mean it is a Nissan so i kinda figured that out, he gives me the asshole look and then said its got a sr20det and a turbo at this point that new "duh duh duhhhh" commercial music was in my head and he asked what I had done I said cam only and exhaust, and he said sounds good. I asked if he wanted to go from the light and we went and 2 cars out ahead i just turned off and went back south. He waved and I did to and that was it. Unreal how much stronger my car is now since the dynotune much thanks to Bret from FBC. Oh yeah sorry for the book.
Cliffnotes: 240 goes down from a 65ish and 30 roll, tells me cockily that it has a "Japanese motor and a turbo" then loses again from dead stop. :drive:
