Re: Car backfires on cold startups
Hello,
I had this problem and it is now mostly resolved.
I used custome programming after a cam change and cold
idle was way to rich. So I asked the programmer to change
the richness level of the cold start idle to leaner
by about 5% or so. I first tested thsi with the MAFT
but of course this will also lean out under all other conditions.

Mine won't crank without some throttle, guess I need to drill the TB hole more. I think it is just really rich, I leaned it out some and it seemed to help. If I can just figure out why my banks are running such different A/F ratios I might be okay.

My car does this also on cold mornings, i feel its caused by air pump running and dumping into cat-less exhaust. This may not be only reason but its got to be contributing to it.
