Looking for a slightly more powerful alternator (mainly around idle speed)
Stock alternator has always been a little overworked (real slow windows rolling up with a/c, lights, stereo, etc. on) and fails an alternator test when everything is on (tests fine with only a few things on though)

Electrical Mods:
I have 2 amps (1 for highs and mids, 1 for solobaric sub)
Under drive pulley
2 capacitors
Replaced fog lights (forgot wattage)
Optima red top battery

So with that in mind, are there any that put out more idling power that don't cost an arm and a leg and is still a quality piece of equipment?

Thanks,

John

i just had mine redone/rewound with a 200 amp stator. Worked like a charm, and only cost me around $150.

I am having the same problem, dipping into the orange at a stoplight. I have tried new alternators, got a new battery, replaced cables with 2 gauge cables, none of that helped. I switched to a smaller pulley on the alt. which helped get it out of the orange a little at a stoplight. cruising on the highway makes a touch over 13. I dont have anything added except aftermarket driving lights which are 55watts. but it was doing it before I added those. So I guess I need a high output alterantor too?

who did the work on your alternator? Do they sell them already made or do you have to send them your old one first?
