Default brake piston

how do i release the piston while changing brake pads. i tried using my palm which i thought was supposed to work but so far no dice...

What I do is usually grab the brake pads you are replacing and use them along with a c clamp to push the piston back in. Either the pad will work or some piece of metal or wood. If you're doing dual pistons make sure you distribute the pressure equally so that the pistons don't get stuck or damaged.

hmm i'll give that a try. i was always under the impression that they recess by hand. i suck

hmm.... i browsed through install university this morning. i can't believe i missed that. thanks for the link but i got the c-clamp this morning and everything was good as new. thanks again guys
