Default Advice on 1.8 rockers please!

Search didnt really help me out on this one so I was hoping to get some advice on some 1.8 rockers. (Scorpions or lightweight YT's).
I know most guys say 1.8's are a waste and to have the desired lift built into the cam. I agree, however I have an ASA cam (that I'm very happy with) with only .525 lift, and going with 1.8's would give me .555 lift. The reason I'm kicking around the idea of 1.8's is because I'm looking @ a set of the ported GMPP LS6 heads designed to match this cam. According to the flow data I've seen, these heads reach peak flow @ .550 lift, so 1.8's should put me right where I need to be with .555 lift right? Any input is welcome.
Thanks

I used crane gold race 1.8 RR. The reason why they are not too popular is because people have had them installed improperly and the result is a bent lifter. In order to properly install crane rr refer to there website, but they are the lifters have to be bleeded down with turning the crank 1/4turn ever 30 minutes. But they lift the valve open higher.Nice upgrade.

.552 A WOULD BE YOUR NET VALVE LIFT. CRANE 1.8 QUICK ARE THE BEST. if you are going to buy any aftermarket rocker, cranes are the one to get.

Thanks guys. The Cranes are also a good choice, I was looking at those too.
I see a lot of people advising against 1.8's, but its usually because people already have a cam with faster ramp rates and higher lift. I'm just wondering if theres any specific reason not to go with a 1.8 rocker.

Just curious how improper adjustment could cause a bent lifter? I have the 1.8 Cranes on my 03 Tahoe. Changed .531" lift to .562. With the Crane dual springs they were just under 20RWHP and 25lb-ft of torque. A real SOTP improvement plus they are quieter than the stock rockers.

Not on the ASA cam, however not sure the LS6 valve springs will keep up with the 1.8's. Also, geometry is important, so I would do a wipe check as well when you install either the Crane or any other rocker for that matter. Cranes have an advantage of full adjustability, but some people don't like that. Also, there have been two negative reports recently of the Scorpion's breaking so until the issue is identified (may not even be the rocker) I would go with Crane or YT's.

Unless you bring the jessel into the picture.

1.8 rockers for the ASA cam wouldnt be a bad idea at all, its just up to you on what rocker you want to use. I havent heard of anyone running the scorpion rockers, so I wouldnt want to be a test dummy for that one. Only proven options out there for a stud mount, roller tip, adjustable rocker are the Comps, Cranes, and YT's. I dont think you could go wrong with either.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
Now I just need to figure out what springs I am going to run since people havent been too happy with the 918's lately and I dont want to push it with the springs Ive got now even though they're supposed to be good to .580 (according to the vendor).

PAC 1518's will fill the bill. PSI 1511 is also an excellent beehive spring. Both will give excellent life due to the processing. The PAC's should drop right in.

Shaft style rocker arms (Yellow Terra UL's) are more rigid...especially with higher cam lifts, higher rpm's, and higher spring pressures. But may be overkill with your .555 cam lift setup.
