Default Stupid UMI Relocation brackets

okay im in the middle of installing some relocation brackets on a 2000 SS. and nowhere in the directions does it say anything about having to bleed the brakes or disconnect them. what a bunch of bullshit its one thing to say in the directions or online or in part description but a completely different when they "forget" to mention it just to sell it better,

**** them and **** all the aftermarket people who lie.

and yea im hungry and tired and wanna drink beer but no gotta bleed the brakes no

Now you said UMI Relocation Brackets right?

I'm at a serious loss of where brakes come into play with these?

First off, if you want any help from me or any of our employees you will straigthen your laungage up. I don't appreciate that non-sense and I am sure no one well else does. That is extremely immature and childish.

Our relcation brackets do not require you to disconnect the brake lines or bleed the brakes. Maybe thats why we don't we don't mention in the instructions. Ever think about that?

I've never had to disconnect or bleed brakes to install relocation brackets.

What exactly did you do?

And, I'm with UMI and the rest of these guys, there is a fine distinction between "aftermarket vendors who lie" and "people who are in over their heads while installing mods". I'm guessing you are closer to the second group, however, if you tell us what you did (and apologize to UMI and edit your first post), we'll be glad to try to help you out or at least explain where you went wrong. Maybe we'll all learn something.

Just my thoughts, but we're glad to help out if we can.

I'm with the other guys and UMI on this, there was no brake disconnecting involved that necessitated bleeding the brakes. My fab guy and I decided to grind the brake booster pieces but that was our choice. I would *** u me you've added steps to the procedure that aren't needed due to not knowing any better. This happens to all of us while we're learning and it's not meant to slight you in any way, but jumping the gun and posting something like this against a vendor (especially one that goes out of their way to cater to the community) is just plain flat and outright wrong. For the most part we're a forgiving group though, an apology is all it takes to make things right.
More than half of the vendors, if you call and ask will be more than happy to help you. Hope you work this out, and an apology to UMI is in order.

He might be talking about the brake bracket deal that needs to be bent or cut off.

Ahhh that could be he probably decided to take that bracket completely off to cut it. I just kept it on the car and used a dremel to trim mine up.

I don't have any, but do the instructions explain about modding the e-brake brackets?

Oh, and I do agree with the other comments.

This was my car he was working on and my instructions said absolutly nothing about moding or cutting this bracket. I contacted UMI and recieved the new up to date instructions which do explain this. The instructions I had were old, but there web site does state "UMI Performance's new bolt-in control arm relocation brackets are a 100% bolt in set-up that require no welding, drilling or cutting. They are a simple bolt on that can be completed a 30 minutes or less." Yeah right! Why do they say that when you do have to cut? But at the time we had no clue of this and decided we needed to remove this bracket in order for the Relocation Bracket to fit. Especially since the instructions say no cutting required. CamaroJunky74 Knows what he is doing and I am sure he will come in here as soon as he gets back to his computer. He's just pissed as am I, because they lie to sell this bolt on kit. Why wouldn't they say "a little cutting of your car is required if you want to retain your E-Brake." Because they would sell less of these. I appreciate UMI for there customer service, they responded to me immediatly with the correct instructions. This is a warning to anyone who thinks this really is a 30 min no mod install as there web site states.
