Default ETP 225's and T-rex......

The heads are 11* ETP 225, 57cc, 2.08/1.57 valve, stock bottom-end (minus rod-bolts), and a t-rex cam (exact specs 243/249.5.612/.618 110+s). The question I am having at this point is PTV. I have no issue flycutting but I am wondering if somebody has a similiar set-up. Also, I have a set of .040 cosmetic gaskets but I heard that I may want to use the stock gasket. What is your opinion and explain why.

Thanks

Just put some forged rods and pistons in it and have no PTV issues and be able to turn the rpm it will need safely

ETP's offer more clearence then a stock unmilled head, so by saying you "gotta" is a inaccurate statement. I am guessing that you maybe one of the guys that think a t-rex wont work with an aftermarket head too huh?

That is what I am thinking at this point, I would like to get away with just fly-cutting the pistons and then spinning the mottor to 7k no problems as the valvetrain and rod bolts have been upgraded.

if u do that dont forget the valve angles are 11* on the etp's and 15* on the ls1 head so u will need to cut the reliefs on 11* angles-and u dont want to use ur pretty head to do that.

I have the exact same heads and a smaller cam and kissed every piston even after verifying PTV clearance was around .050. Perhaps it was less than we thought. Anyway, I say the T-Rex is not going to fit.
