Default didnt know heads had to be machined?

I got a set of roller rockers, and they dont fit inside the stock guide for the rockers, now suposedly to make them work the heads have to be machined but the lenth between the push rod hole and roller tip is longer than stock, I think I got the wrong ones, anybody have experience?, thanks

I have heard that some people do have have the head machined with certain rockers. And some rockers are a true bolt on. I am far from an authority on this.

Did you buy T&D rockers? They will require enlargement of the pushrods holes. You can do the machining yourself with a large drill bit or a dremmel, but the heads need to be off the engine to do that.

Yella terras should bolt right on. Dunno about some other brands.

no, there genuine chevrolet 1.7 roller rockers, from jim pace performance parts that suposedly are for the ls1, but when I put the old ones and new ones side by side the new roller ones look alot longer, looks like there for a regular big block, I'm thinking they sent me the wrong ones, although the part number's what they say it was, maybee some cracker *** packaged them wrong!

Dindn't know GM made "true" roller rockers for the LS1 yet, just the stockers, and the SLP ones. You might have recieved ones that fit Regular SBC's, and not the LS1.

98 valve covers, my understanding, might need clearancing for all aftermarket rocker arms.

GM does not make aftermarket rockers.
