Can anyone tell me?? I bought an LS1 supposedly from a 01 trans am, I found a few casting numbers saying that it was from that type of vehicle, but is there any way to know for sure that it is actually from the vehicle that I bought it out of, like the VIN stamped somewhere? I have the full VIN from the vehicle, and the engine on a stand, so there is no problem with access to any outside portion of the engine.

I know that the block and heads are from a 2001 vehicle, but I was wondering if there was any way to find out for sure other than the guys word that it came out of a particular trans am
