Default 5.3L cam

i have a 5.3L in my truck and was going to swap it out soon for an LQ4 6.0 out of a SS Silverado. can i port and polish my 5.3L heads and add a cam to this engine? someone told me that the 5.3 heads are far better than the 6.0 heads. is this true? also how big of a cam can i use on my stock converter without having my knock sensors go nuts? the cam im looking at is an Isky cam grind no type rr-265/275 hydraulic roller application good mid-range power. good vacuum & good idle. 3.23-3.70 axle ratio. 9.5-10.5:1 compr. computer compatible with stage1 chip. stock converter. up to 650 cfm carb. rpm-range 2000-6000. i still have my stock 3.73 gear ratio and i want to run 10.0:1 compression. any help would be great. thanks guys.
