Default F.A.S.T. ~ Relocation of R&D to Memphis, TN

FAST™ Relocates R&D Center, Expands Engineering & Tech Support Resources

FAST™ (Fuel Air Spark Technology™), a leading manufacturer of high performance electronic fuel injection and tuning products, plans to relocate its Brighton, Michigan Research & Development Center to the Memphis, Tennessee headquarters of its parent company, the COMP Performance Group™ (CPG), effective immediately. Coinciding with the move, FAST™ announces it has added key engineering and tech support personnel to handle ambitious plans for future growth and rapid product development.

The relocation of the FAST™ R&D Center marks the culmination of a nearly two year effort to centralize all aspects of the company, including tech support, sales and production in one location. Plans are to relocate all current employees of the Brighton, Michigan facility to the Memphis facility and continue their assignments within the FAST™ product line. In anticipation of the move, several key engineering personnel have recently been hired or reassigned from other CPG divisions - further strengthening what is already arguably the strongest engineering team of any performance electronics company. The newly expanded FAST™ engineering team is currently in place at the Memphis facility and actively engaged in “fast tracking” new product development efforts with several breakthrough products scheduled for debut at this year’s SEMA show.

To provide the expanded FAST™ engineering staff with the needed equipment resources, several pieces of highly specialized testing equipment have recently been added to the state-of-the-art CPG Technology Development Center, with more equipment acquisitions planned in the months ahead. Of note among the recent additions is a custom-designed and manufactured CFIA (Computerized Fuel Injector Analysis) station – the only device of its type in the world. This unit was used extensively in the development of the newly released Precision-Flow™ Gen IV High-Flow Fuel Injectors – an industry first. The new equipment acquisitions will enhance what is currently regarded as the most advanced testing facility in the automotive aftermarket, featuring multiple engine and chassis dynamometers, Spintron® valve motion machines, flowbenches, proprietary analysis and data recording software and numerous specialized testing stations.

In another strategic move, FAST™ has recently doubled the size of its technical support staff to better serve the support needs of its customers. With the introduction of the toll free FAST™ tech support line two years ago and the continuing expansion of the product line, the FAST™ technical support team has had difficulty sustaining the high-level of individual customer service that FAST™ has always been known for. In an effort to immediately correct this shortcoming and establish FAST™ as the market leader in customer support, several experienced, highly-trained electronics technicians have been added to the staff. The FAST™ technical support team is responsible for handling all aspects of product support from on-site event support to answering the toll free tech line, as well as responding to email inquiries.

Scooter Brothers, President of Research & Development and Co-Owner, COMP Performance Group™

“It is my vision for FAST™ to continue to be the industry leader in electronic fuel injection and tuning technology. As a result of this commitment, we are putting into motion the next phase of our plan to prepare FAST™ for the future. Centralizing our advanced research and engineering resources will allow us to strengthen our overall team, as well as broaden the scope of the CPG Technology Development facility. Equally important, the recent expansion of the FAST™ technical support staff is essential to support continued growth and an unwavering principle of all CPG companies.

With today’s late model vehicles being so dependant upon electronics, we see a tremendous strategic benefit in having the FAST™ engineering resources located in Memphis. This will centralize all the CPG engineering resources in one facility and allow them to work side-by-side in a “systems approach” to developing the best and most user-friendly performance products on the market. With today’s vehicles, you can’t upgrade the valve train without considering how it impacts the engine computer (ECU) and vice versa, so it only makes sense to have our full engineering staff in one location, sharing information and ideas.

Admittedly, the strong growth of FAST™ over the last several years has not been without some minor growing pains, but we believe these changes will immediately strengthen our program and allow us to bring more new and innovative products to market faster and more efficiently. Furthermore, I think the relocation of the R&D Center and the on-going expansion of engineering resources will bring a fresh enthusiasm to FAST™ and is further testament to the commitment that we have to the future of this company.”

About FAST™
Founded as FAST™ (Fuel Air Spark Technology) in 2001, the performance electronics company is most recognized for its landmark electronic fuel injection system - XFI™. The product of over three years of engineering development, the XFI™ Fuel Injection is the first engine control unit to offer the latest in advanced EFI capabilities with a “truly” user friendly interface. Today, the XFI™ Fuel Injection continues to be refined and have new capabilities added, despite the fact that it is already the leading choice for racers, street rodders and street performance enthusiasts. In addition, the FAST™ engineering team counts to its credit several other industry standard products such as the revolutionary LSX™ Manifold, Dual Sensor Air/Fuel Meter and XIM™ Ignition Module.
