Default confirm my fear.....

02 z28, stock block, ati procharger pullied for 8lbs. today i noticed if i jump on it especially going in 3rd it leaves a 007 smokescreen. and another time it popped the dipstick out. is it like a turkey timer and it means its cooked or can i stay out of boost and limp it around for awhile. no noises or sounds at idle or anything and doesnt seem to be down on power, actually quite opposite feels stronger. im going to do a normal compression check on the easy to get to cylinders hopefully tomorrow. will that tell me if i cooked a piston or shredded a ring? or is a full leak down test needed? thanks

My old car used to pop the dipstick out on the stock shortblock. It was a brocken ring, allowing the boost pressure into the crankcase and then it would pop it out.Sound's similar to your issue's.

Even tho its drivable right now, i would park it until you leak it down. If the ring land is broken, it can score your liner badly, or pieces can lodge cracking the liner.

cylinder leak down test is what you need to do. mine was doing the same thing. smoking bad and pushing the dipstick out and blowing oil all over the engine. tore the motor down and found 4 pistons with cracked ring landings

It should let you know which cylinder(s) to concentrate on...

Check that your PCV system is operating normally - this can cause the block to be pressurized which can not only blow out your dipstick, but also your seals! It may be an easy fix if something isn't right.
