Default Quick Disconnect??

I have been searching this forum for a method to disconnect the "quick connect" hydraulic line from my T56 so I can remove my transmission. I have tried everything and I can't get it disconnected. Is there a specialty tool required for this operation or can it be done with simple hand tools? I would like someone to walk me through the removal of this line.
