Lq9 and Lq4 heads

LQ9 And LQ4 heads what is the difference? Compression? Different years?

The early ones are cast iron(pre 2000 i think)
All the alum. ones after that are same casting number-317 for both the lq4&lq9

The heads are the same 2000+. The difference in the LQ4/9 was the pistons.
