Default Pinion Bearing, Axel Bearings Need Advice!!

Man i just got back from mechanic and was told the pinion bearing, inner axel bearings, pinion seal and possibly pinion and gear are broke all from the pinion bearing comming apart. Obviously this isnt going to be cheap, I been thinking about spending the money to put a whole different rear end in instead of just fixing the weaker one. I need advice/opinions please

9in or 12 bolt would be best. or just buy a used one off here for $250 to get by for now.

Dude i had this same thing happen when i PCS'ed (moved) to N Charleston. Samething with my car, and it only had 20.0k on the clock (now has 21.5k) and since i didn't know anybody at all I had to resort to having a Chevy dealership replace, well actually rebuild the whole rearend for me...yeah $1100 later....well it was all taken care of and stuff w/warranty but i dunno. I've never messed with anthing passed the flywheel so all i can say is best of luck if you have the tools and help or a manual might be worth a shot to do it yourself.....

Best of luck meng!
