Shift points for a bolt on car?

Shift points for a bolt on car? Ive already been to the dyno (dynojet) and put down 338/345
my peak horsepower rpm was right at 5600 and torque was pretty much flat at 345 from 4200 - 5000 rpms.
I know the first gear is steep in these trannys and was thinking 6000 for the 1-2 and 5800 or so for the 2-3.
It shifts around 5500-5600 now and seems a bit low. Shift extension is around 4500 ish
Going to the dyno again on sunday. Tryin to get every TENTH out of my car

From what I've seen, stock cam, 6000 or higher. Here's a chart
of acceleration in gear, looks like as the car was, 6000 was about
the break-even point-of-shift. With any kind of cam (and valve
springs to support it) you'd go higher by a fair bit.

Yep, you're on the right track. You definitely want to spin 1st gear as far as you can (safely) because of the huge dropoff in multiplication from 1st to 2nd. 5500 will kill you on the 1-2, even with shift extension from a converter.
