Default Steering wheel moves...

As I was taking some tight turns yesterday I noticed that my steering wheel and column w/ the force of the car would move about a 1/2 inch to the left and the right < ----- > during the turn. Just wondering if this is normal or not...

I bet your pins in the tilting mechanism are bent. I had a big fat guy work on my car once, and when he got out of the car he used the steering wheel to help him out of the car, and my steering wheel did the same thing you are describing.

Did you do anything to fix it or did you just leave it as it was?

I just went out and tried moving it around some more.. The wheel AND column both move up and down as well as side to side about 1/2 inch... so i do not think that it is just the wheel tilt mechanism. It feels like it is moving all the way down to where the steering column connects in the engine bay...
