overheating and thermostat

Default overheating and thermostat

I got a 1998 SS camaro and im running it without the thermostat will that effect anyhting. Even with the thermostat out im still overheating especially with the ac on what do yall suggest

air in the system or possable bad water pump

You need a thermostat, put it back in. Check your cooling fans, Radiator cap, fluid levels and for debris caught in the radiator.

flush your system, drop in a thermostat and try it out.

Does it do any better on the freeway ? I would check your fans for proper function and the maybe get the radator rodded.

Im going thru the same issue right now, so im going to replace the thermostat this weekend first.

Keep in mind that these cars naturally run fairly hot, 208-214ish degrees depending on the outside temp and driving conditions.
