Cam Swap... what else do I need?
A friend and I are getting cams but it seems every time we think we are done ordering stuff we come across more small items we need to pick up. We ordered the TR 224/224-112 cam swap package & have all the other bolt ons. For a cam swap should we also get a new timing chain and if so which one? Also what about the TR ported LS6 Oil Pump? Thanks!

Replacing the oil pump and timing chain is strictly optional. Some people firmly believe in upgrading the timing chain since it needs to come off anyway, and while the chain is off, its very simple to get the oil pump out. If you car has a good amount of miles on it, you'll be glad you changed it now, because lets face it, timing chains do break, and oil pumps do go bad. If you want to save the extra 150-200 it costs to buy both, then go ahead, but I personally did it, and have no regrets.

Thanks for the reply, what timing chain did would you suggest?
I have seen a few: Comp Cams Adjustable, JWIS chain, SLP Double Roller, and I am sure there are others.
