Planning on a set of Patriot heads.. Looking for a cam..
Ok guys-
I am going to H/C soon and have been trying to decide the best route to take..
I want to get a set of ported 243 castings. With Ferrea 6000 series 2.02"/1.57" valves, 64cc chambers, and Patriot Gold dual springs. I'd be lookin' at around 10.5-10.8 compression depending on the gasket..
I was all set to just pick up a TR 224 on 112 and then throw those heads on it..
But then I started wondering - if I got a cam custom ground to work the best with a set of these heads, could I make more power?
I'm no motor wizard, so I turn to you guys, the.. experts..
What would you guys do?
Just get the 224 and throw the patriot heads on or get a custom cam?

The car is going to be a street setup only.. I'd love to break 400 at the wheels.. I just want it to be stout..
I don't race it at the track and rarely race it on the street..
I basically have all the essential bolt ons and am planning on going h/c.
Gearing is the stock 2.73's which I am pretty sure I will leave alone for now..
I have a Vig 3200 stall and it is a semi-daily driver.. I drive it when I am in town, most of the time, but I have an Integra I drive to work, etc..
I think I have decided to go with the Patriot heads and their 226 cam.. Should be a nice setup..
