Default Running an LS7 on an LS1 computer.

Is it worth keeping the wirring layed out in the car and simply changing a few pigtails to install an LS7 or is the new computer a better choice to run with?

Default Pcm

It will work just fine. You have to upgrade a couple sensors and add some pigtails but it still will work fine.Traver

An LS1 PCM is incompatible with the LS7's 58x crankshaft wheel.

You need to change the reluctor wheel on the crank to an LS1 style for sure.

Also Katech makes some adapters for the injectors and knock sensors that make for a clean install.

OOPS!I forgot to mention about the reluctor wheel.Just assumed he was asking if the computer will work for this application, and it will.Though the reluctor wheel upgrade is a must!Traver

I thought the crank sensor was integrated in the crank.... or is it just on the front and a simple upgrade... as well i thought the new computers would have a faster procesor any ideas on that?
