I am running a ported fast with a F1A and have ran 17.5 lbs through it with no problems.

Most guys here are running the LS6 intake with the stock ported throttle body.

im just wondering b/c people say not to run the fast intakes because they crack or blow out the back on high boost. are they right or is it just with some people?

I have personally never seen a FAST intake crack or blow out. But I the say time I have seen the LS6 intake/polished throttle body get the job done time after time. Stick with the ls6 intake and polished throttle body and spend that 1110.00 elsewhere.

If you have it use it.I have only herd of a couple cracking under Extreme boost 25+ lbs and the leak issues I have seen when not properly installed, but not a comon problem just most FI people spend the $ else where because the LS6 has done the job very well for a long time etc...

My bad. I didn't read your post close enough to notice that you already have the set-up. If you have it, then use it.

Since you already have the FAST intake, I'd go ahead and use it as well. There aren't too many good alternatives out there to use with a 90mm throttle body. Bob

I read of a few guys having problems past 20psi. I never plan on going past that psi and liked the idea of the direct port option on the fast and it does take the 90 tb.
I would also think it might be beneficial on some bigger engines like the 427 mabye even 454 I might go with.

If you have it I would run it, bigger CID and a bigger blower would probably see some benefit. I ran a 90/90 for a while and didnt see much difference but that was with smaller heads and cam and sold it off so I could buy a bigger blower which most definately made a difference I have read about some leaking issues with over 20psi but mine was fine at 14-16psi.

tony mamo just helped with a supercharged vette in the dyno section and they got 768 rwhp on only 14 lbs boost with meth out of a little old 346 with a mamofied 90/90. If you don't plan on hitting 20 lbs boost go for it.
