Question Anyone running cam only or H/C with stock oil pumps??

Just wanted to see if any of you guys are running a stock oil pump LS1 LS2 or LS6 on a cam only or H/C car and to see how your holding up. It just seems like a ported oil pump is over kill for a motor thats spinning up to 6600rpms?

Stock LS6 oil pump. Spin mine to 7000. My cutoff is set to 7200. Still runs fine. H/C

stock ls6 pump here also. have plenty of pressure and imo still should have enough volume to handle about any street motor.

I called Lingenfelter's on this issue. I was told that unless you had a crank with additional clearance on the bearings, you didn't need a ported oil pump. So for your setup it really depends on if the stock pump is worn out and should be replaced.

don`t bother with a "ported" pump use stock or get a hi volume pump.
