Official Project Plane Jane Thread!! (MS3 install with pics) Ok so i started the install of my MS3 cam and all supporting mods this weekend. So watch and enjoy 
starting the teardown
Pulled the injectors
pulled the intake (we accidentally broke the oil sending unit)
next came the exhaust manifolds:
drivers side
Passenger side
starting the scrap bin
pulled the water pump
pulled the valve covers:
passenger side
drivers side
pulled the timing cover
used dowels to hold up the lifters as we started to pull the cam
the cam completly removed..
oiling up the MS3
installing the MS3
cam in and ready to remove the dowels
dowels removed
stay tuned for updates soon to come..
not bad for a weekends worth of work with a limited amount of parts

did you happen to run a fifle cleaner down the center of th ecam? I do and I ALWAYS find crap in there from the machining process. if the last pic is where its at, might want to pull it back out and do that just in case. I got one cam that was nasty inside. but the rest is very little dirt/debris but its better to be safe then sorry.

yeah, I acutally used a can of brake cleaner, then used a coat hanger cut and straightend, with a pice of papertowel in the end of it like a rifle cleaner. used to clean the long barrel of a rifle. ran that through and sprayed a bit through after that. long as you atleast looked in there. some people have no idea to do that and "could" have a bunch of junk in there if it wasnt cleaned from the mill.

There was a little bit of white grease on the end but i did look and it looked pretty clean. Thanks for the input i may look into doing it.. Im gonna do the valve springs today i think wish me luck and ill post more pics.
what method are you using to keep your valves up?
the air hose method or are you going to turn your crank until the piston is TDC to whatever valve springs you're working on?

I used tdc, it was easy as hell. i wouldnt do it any other way. held the valve with a magnet and moved it up and down just to make sure i was at tdc.
Looks like everythings going well, pics like that makes it look like you can do everything in about 2 hours, lol
