Default Catch can with a breather on top?

what purpose does the breather on top of the catch can serve? Do people run breathers on top of the valve covers and a catch can or is it one or the other? I just installed an LS6 valley cover and still get some oil. I'm trying to decide what my best option is. And what purpose the breathers in different spots serve.

Default

just add a catch can between the LS6 cover and the T/B. If your going to go the Breather route, it is best to design a complete system using Breather and not the PCV. Un-metered air into the T/B is the concern, some don't worry about it. Search out on Threads on PCV, Catch Cans and Breathers.
