Default 806 head pp is it worth it?

this winter i plan on installing a tr230 cam and everything to go with it. my question is, is it worth having my 806 heads ported and polished? i have a guy that will do it for $300 localy. how much power will i gain from having the heads ported compaired to just leaving them?

Default

They port as well as the later LS1's..I have a set of spare ported 806's..They flow right around 300 intake at the top...225 exhaust.
The advantage to running a head like this on a '98 is you can tell them it's "cam only" since most people that do heads swaps retrofit to something with centerbolts.
