Default 2002 B4C Special Service Coupe

It is identicle to any other Z28. I've heard so many knuckleheads say how different they are I thought I'd post up. It was a Florida Highway Patrol car. The top and decklid were tan. The window sticker I have for it says special service coupe. The title says police under model.

Cool that looks really nice! Im glad the tan is gone... those florida trooper cars always looked funny. too bad they couldn't use white instead of the tan, then it would look alright. Good job with it!

I know, Ive seen a couple of trooper cars here in Florida without the badges and others with them. I'm not sure why the difference. Nowhere on the title or window sticker does it say Z28 or badge delete, but when I called in the vin for insurance they show Z28. I've also personally seen a M6 trooper car though most people think they are all autos.

I already know it is a B4C, but I will post the proof here later (I'm at work and didn't drive it). Not that it's anything to lie about, it's nothing special.

If I recall correctly, it has B4C on the option codes door sticker, I'm not sure if it would be coded in the vin or not. I know the 5.7 engine is. Police is on the title as well.

Some guy has a white B4C A4 for sale by me for $8000.00. It has black interior with black cloth seats with no power. It has power windows, mirrors, and locks. It also has NO badging what so ever and the 16 x 8 silver standard wheels!! I thought it was a V-6 car when I first saw it and then I pulled in and saw it had the Z-28 rectangular exaust tips. Still thought it was a V-6 car...then I saw the sale sign in the window. It stated it was bought from Cobb County at the police auction and had a "LT1" Corvette motor...he had no idea. It is an 01 LS1 B4C car. LOL!!

Well there are some differences.... the powersteering cooler for one, the alternator was believed to be higher output but its not (i pulled mine and had it tested), they usually come totally debadged, mine was tuned to have the governor taken out, higher shift points and some other things when we hooked it up, I dunno if that's standard or not. Also they come with cloth interior

I have a 98 M6 B4C, one of 12 that year that came with the stick, and it was factory black, it was the police chiefs personal unmarked car he special ordered

Ok, I didn't get a chance to get more pics but I did look at the option code door sticker. It has B4C as an option. The window sticker says Chevrolet special service coupe.
It has gray cloth interior, pw, pm, pl, power drivers seat, 16" ugly wheels, no radio controls on the steering wheel, standard cd player, and a big *** interior light.
I spoke to the guy I bought it from (who was the cop who bought his own patrol car) and he said when he had the tan parts painted black by a dealer body shop, he had the Z28 badges put on.
And like killerbeez said, for some reason in drive mine shifts at 5800rpm in the red. I only paid $7700 for it, not a steal but not too bad.

I think 58 is normal? Mine was at 6200.
oh ya, another thing it has is a plate mount front grill. I wanna see if I can compare the sway bars and what not, theres a lot of speculation on some of the options they have but I can never hear for sure one way or not, like I've heard it has lower gears, etc.

Sway bars are the same, GU5 gears (3:23 perf axle). I think the speculation comes from a lot of the old Police Interceptor packages having heavy duty everything. The new Z28s were good enough in regular trim they didn't really have to change anything. It's just a low cost, low option Z28.

Funny how if I tell people it's a B4C they think it's cool, but if I don't it just looks like a base model pepsi can with a sweet exhaust note. I would have rather had a fully optioned SS but didn't want to part with the cash.

Everyone knows SS's are WAY faster and very rare and collectible!

I'm 100% on it, it's parked in my garage. GU5= 3:23 and the window sticker it lists performance axle as one of the only options. It'll bury the speedometer with the 3:23's no problem.

do they just repaint them when they take them off trooper status? thats pretty cool car

I live probably 6 minutes away from the 436/semeron fhp station and I rarely see the fhp camaro's anymore. Used to be a bunch like 8 months ago parked there.

Yeah, they're a dying breed. Almost all been retired now.
They just strip off all the FHP decals and paint over anything they can't clear up. They usually look like **** until you paint 'em. The good thing is they've been well maintained and mostly highway cruising miles. I know cops get on it from time to time, but the hardest abuse they usually see is idling forever. And they usually keep them spotlessly clean. I saw one in service the other day with the light bar and everything. Just overkill, man, like cops carrying bazookas.
