Is it speed related meaning the faster you go the more it ticks? LS1 are pretty good at valvetrain noise but it is mostly at idle.If it does not increase with speed only when you give it gas or under a load it could be an exhuast leak.Does it have headers or stock exhuast manifolds. If your car is automatic you can have a buddy put the car in drive and step on the gas and the brake at the same time lighlty ( not doing a burnout) while you hear for that noise. If you do hear it check if it is coming from the exhaust or the exhuast manifolds. Give me more details to see if I can help you better .Good luck.

its a 6 spd i have stock manifolds and aftermarket exhaust the noise is coming from the drivers side of the motor...if i'm driving say 45mph theres no noise but as soon as i give it a little bit of gas it starts ticking..it does it in every gear while accelerating. i've only had the car about a month and the noise seems to be getting louder the more i drive it.

uh oh. if it continues to get louder as you drive more and it kicks in at higher rpms. sounds like you could have a rod knock. Check your oil immediately, if its low and you've been heavy on the throttle you could have a rod knock. Any help guys? I've spun a few rods before, and it had all the same symptoms, never an LS1. But i have to imagine the symptons are the same.

the only thing that makes me think that its not the rod, is that it doesnt do it if he revs. I still stick with my original decision, i really think its a rod knock. Sounds exactly like what i've dealt with in the past
