Default Curse these headlights.

I have had quite a few problems with the driver's headlight on my 99 Firebird. The gear just got stripped (but oddly enough the driver's side light was more reliable) and I flipped the brass gear. Apparently, I didn't make sure the metal housing was tight on the first try and the epoxy didn't stick. This time, we made sure the tabs were pressed in and used clamps to allow the epoxy to bond. The packaging said 5 minutes but we left it for about an hour.

Now, this headlight didn't go up again. The light came on but it didn't go up. Is there any way to test the plug or replace? I don't want to cut the wires and have it end up that the actual motor is going out.
