Will a T-rex work in a 5.3? Would a 6.0 be better?
Just like the title say, and yes, I tried search. Thanks, Tim.

Just regular rpm's for a T-Rex. The only reason I ask is because it's cheaper to get a complete 5.3 than a 5.7. Just want to make sure valves clear pistons and everything like that. Thanks, Tim.

there's absolutely no need for that much cam in that motor... What are you trying to do with it?
weight of the vehicle? intended use? gear ratio? auto/manual... all big deciding factors.

I'm building a motor for my Elco, I got a T-Rex and looking at the prices of used motors, figured the 5.3 would save money. Weight of vehicle will be around 3200, not a daily driver, just for fun. Gears will be 4.10's, TH400. I didn't really think that it would make that big a difference by using the 5.3, but if it does, I'll get a ls1. Thanks, Tim.
