check engine light

Default check engine light

my check engine light came on a few days after I bought the car, and I just noticed a small exhaust leak were the headers connect to the Y-pipe, do you think this could have caused the check engine light to come on? otherwise, I'm taking it to were I work tomarrow and we have a program that can pull up the codes, I'm just hoping its becuase of the exhaust leak

SES light can be any one of dozens of different things.

Only way to know is to scan and pull the code.

Moving to General Maintenance & Repairs....

could be exahust leak, bad plug/wire/coil, o2 bad or any number of things
