I've got problems with my tranny, the reverse gear is really tricky; it wants to pop out, and it won't shift into any gear until the revs come down. It occasionally grinds a little going into 3rd and 4th. It feels like it's got far too much end shaft play and I assume that's why it's popping out of reverse, it's popped out of 1st once or twice as well. What exactly do I need to fix the symptoms? I'm thinking new synchros and shift forks.

I'm mechanically inclined and have done everything on the car myself thus far. I'm young and looking at this as a long term hobby and want to dig into all aspects of it, so I want to give it a shot. I'll give you a call Monday, thanks Amber.

talk with joe and amber at Six speed inc. they were very helpful when i did the same thing, rebuilt the tranny myself.
