Head Gasket Question
Recieving my heads tomorrow, and am still wondering about head gaskets. I was told that the stock graphite heads gaskets are good ones, and bought those when I purchased my new heads. Even though im spraying N2O, are the stock graphite gaskets really OK to stick with? What Im really looking for, are Fel-Pro's. Do they offer a stock bore size head gasket? and are they better than stock?

Re: Head Gasket Question
Unless you are going to be using a ton of nitrous I'd think a stock gasket will be just fine. If you blow a gasket on that setup it'd probably be because of detonation and that'd mean something is wrong anyway. Better the gasket goes than the piston. I can move this thread to the nitrous section if you wish, just send me a PM.

Re: Head Gasket Question
Hey Moneyman:
Your doing your H/C swap like me. I started last weekend so you are ahead of me.
I noticed you cleaned your pistons of carbon.
When I took my heads off the carbon buildup was significant and the intake ports were covered in oil. Before I put the headers on, the intakes were clean so I am assuming the LTs cause the PVC system to suck more oil into the intake!
How are you dealing with this (i) catch can, (ii) LS6 valley cover, (iii) do nothing????

"Cooper Coat Them"
Where did you get that info?
[ALL] GM head gaskets are to be installed dry...
You start modifying the GM install procedures, and you are looking for more trouble than you want to deal with. I promise you....
