Default Questions About Kooks Headers

I'm interested in the Kooks headers, but I'm a bit confused after looking around their Website.

I have a 99 LS1, so I know I'll need the emissions provisions, but there are still a handful of options for 99s. I'm guessing that 1 3/4" x 1 7/8" x 3" signifies a stepped header, correct? How does this header differ from the 1 3/4" x 3" set and is the performance difference worth the $125 premium?

Due to financial constraints, I'm most interested in the 1 3/4" x 3" header. Would this be a good choice or should I look elsewhere if I plan to forego the stepped design anyway? And finally, is the $589 price for the ceramic coated or stainless steel variation?

Thanks Much,
Josh

the $589 is for the bare set. Its extra for stainless steel or ceramic.

Add $275 for coated or stainless to the $589. When I bought my Kooks, they said that the 1 3/4 was good for cars up to 500 RWHP. If you have a car with less power, a stepped may actually cost you some hp.

$250 extra for coated or $275 extra for stainless. $589 for bare headers and $715 for stepped bare headers. You don't need stepped unless your pushing more than 500 RWHP or running a decent size N20 shot...
